Mera Peak (6654 m)

Mera peak is the highest permitted trekking peak of Nepal. It is to the south of Everest and dominates the watershed between the heavily wooded valley of the Hinku and Hongu Drankas. Mera peak offers a panoramic view of chamlang (7,319m), Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Makalu (8,463m), and Barunste (7,129m) in the east and the peaks of Cho-oyu (8,201m), Ama Dablam (6,812m) and Kangtega (6,779m) to the west. Everest can be viewed in the north over the massive unclimbed south face of Lhotse (8,516m) and Nuptse (7,855m)/ Lhotse ridge. This Mera peak provides one of the best viewpoints in Nepal.
 
Trek Itinerary

Day Location
Day-01 Arrival and transfer to the Hotel, welcome drinks and short brief for the trekking & peak & evening dinner offer.
Day-02 Issue permit and preparation for the trip free day.
Day-03 Kathmandu - Lukla (2860m) - fly in the morning for 45 minutes then Commence trek to Thudingma (2652m) 3 hours walk.
 
After a very early start and an early take off from Kathmandu Domestic Airport, a 45-minute flight is all it takes to propel into the Everest region of Nepal. The landing at Lukla (2800m) is spectacular and on arrival trekking crew who organize the luggage and hustle you off for tea will greet you. After a leisurely lunch you will start the trek in earnest, setting off for a gentle walk to Thudingma. The trail goes ascend slowly for 3 hours and steep up for one hour and arrive Thukdingma for the camping. The views of Numbur (6957m), Karyolung (6511m), Kwangde (6011m) are magnificent from here.
Day-04 Thudingma - Chhetra (3300m.) 6 hours walk
 
Today is an easy walk all day passing through the jungle and grassland for Yaks during the summer. We arrive Chhetra for camping.
Day-5 Chhetra – Kothe (3500m) 5 hours walk
 
We ascend slowly passing through the jungle. We find virtually, no human settlement on the trail. We arrive Thaksingdingma (3,500m) for Camping.
Day-6 Kothe – Thagnag (4700m ) 6 hours walk
  We walk all day through the side of the mountain and the trail is narrow. The patches of the jungle on the trail become thinner as we ascend near the snow line. We camp at Thagnak.
Day-7 This day you have rest for acclimatization and exploring around the camp side.
 
It is worth spending an extra day at Thagnak, which is in a superb setting surrounded by stunning peaks including Peak 43 (6,769m). There is a huge moraine in the north of Thagnak where a beautiful glacial lake, Sabai Tsho is dammed. It is worth exploring around for acclimatization purpose. Thagnak is also a base for climbing east and North-east side of Kushum Kanguru.
Day-8 Thagnag – Khare (5300m.) 4 hours walk
 
We follow the lateral moraine of Dig Glacier to Dig Khraka which offers the spectacular views of Charpate Himal. The trail climbs through moraines and to the snout ot the Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers and then climbs more steeply to Khare for the camping.
Day-9 This day also you have rest for acclimatization and exploring around the camp side in Khare
Day-10
Khare – High Camp (5420m.)
 
We ascend for 5 hours and arrive at High camp (5,415m) and set up the high camp and make preparation for the next day to get to the summit. Normally, this are will be covered with snow from Nov.- April. Again the views from the pass are spectacular.
Day-11
High Camp – Summit – Khare 6 hours ascend
  Today we go to the summit and the views of Pumori (7161m), Lhotse (8516m) Makalu (8463m), Lobuche (6145m), Cho Oyu (8201m) are spectacular from the summit. After summit the peak you will be retraced to Khare.
Day-12 Khare – Kothe 5 hours walk
 
After break having fast in the morning, now our trek down to Kothey for the camping.
Day-13 Kothe – Chhetre 4 and a half hours walk
  After taking break fast in the morning, trek to Chhetre for the camping.
Day-14 Chhetre – Thudingma 5 hours walk
  After break having fast in the morning our trek to Thudingma for the camping.
Day-15 Thudingma – Lukla 3 hours walk
  Today you have very short day’s trek for Lukla. After taking break fast in the morning walk to Lukla for 3 hours only and over night spend in Lukla.
Day 16 Today, you have to take your breakfast early in the morning, and have a short walk onto the Lukla airstrip and fly back to Kathmandu. After arriving in Kathmandu, you will transfer to the hotel and overnight in the hotel.
Day 17 After breakfast free for you until time to leave the international airport for your final destination.

Cost include:
2 night hotel in Kathmandu, airport arrival/departure transport services all necessary land and air transportation as per trek itinerary, meal three times in a day, sleeping bag, guide, all climbing gears, porters, National park fee us$ 14, peak permit US$ 350 and Kathmandu / Lukla / Kathmandu air ticket US$ 200, sherpa climber's charge $300, accommodation in the tent and insurance for Nepalese staffs
 
Cost does not includes:
Hard drinks, cold drinks, hot shower and tips for guide/ porters, climbing boot with crampon, Int’l air ticket, hotel in Kathmandu except 2 night offered after upon arrival and rescue helicopter if used during the trek.
