
Nawang Sherpa is from the Okhaldhunga District of Eastern Nepal, just south
of the SoluKhumbu. He has been working his way up in the trekking business
since he was 15 years of age. He is the uncle of our expedition cook, Dendi
Sherpa.
Nawang has led many trekking peak expeditions including: Peak Paldor, Island
Peak, Loboche, Mera Peak, Rumdung, Parchmuche, Yala Peak, Naya Kanga and Pokhalde.
He has also guided on a expedition to one of the most beautiful mountains
in the world, Ama Dablam, (6856m) in Nepal's Everest region.
Nawang's favorite mountain is Mt. Everest "because it is the highest."
His favorite trekking is the Gokyo-Cho La-Kala Pattar trek in the Khumbu because
"the views are the best."
Nawang is the father of two lovely children. He and his family live in Kathmandu.
